the report of the failure of the SME 03 LCD display
The display was more
and more unable to be read. At the end, impossible to read.
Power
supply/interface for the LCD graphic board + optic wheel
encoder
(red circle is the
area with oxydation, liquid leakage, picture is normal mounted
position)

100uF 50v, 47uF 50v
electrolytic capacitors have a leakage of the electolyte, some solder
are oxyded. The worst was under the components. Red circle is liquid
state of electrolyte.
Capacitors are
removed, see also under the bottom diode.
After alcohool
cleaning
Coopper pads trouble.
After
patterns repair, capacitors and diodes replacement the SME 03 is
perfect. May be the CFL backlight is a little at the end of
life.
Nota
: I don't have exact value under the hand.... 100uF 50v replaced by
220uF 50v, low ESR Panasonic FM serie. 47uF 50v Replaced by 33uF 50v,
low ESR Panasonic FM serie. Diode 1N4007 by 1N4004.
LCD
